You see things; and you say “Why?” But I dream things that never were; and I say “Why not?” — George Bernard Shaw

rapid weight loss

This is an inspirational quote about weight loss. And it refers to constructing an image of yourself as the person you want to be. George Bernand Shaw sees that people often look into their lives and find things that are not exactly as they wanted it to be. And then they instinctively ask themselves why does this happen. These are the ordinary people.

Hope for never losing hope

We judge of man’s wisdom by his hope. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hope for never losing hope

We all have rainy days in our life.

By rainy days we mean to the non-meteorological rainy days when we run down the streets by having a heavy rainy cloud above our heads. We know the feeling so well. Sometimes we’re just a little low while some other times we’re so depressed and it makes us feel like we lost all ways to believe in ourselves. We lost hope. But when did we get in here?

Things to Do While You’re In TrafficAs citizens of the same planet, we all face traffic problems. Even in we live in New York or another world wide city, because of the fact that we use cars as means of transportations, no matter what, we’re stuck in traffic. Some of us, from time to time while others, every day.

Being in traffic and not being able to make any decision about the direction you’re planning to go cat get really frustrating. The waiting, the hurry, the noise and the meeting you’re going to be late at could drive you crazy in just a couple of minutes.

Journals

19 Mar 2008 In: The Real You

JournalsEver since we were kids, some of us used to keep journals. Back then journals were cool, they were fun and their basic characteristic, which lives on, was that they were top secret.

On a short journey to the past I tried to remember how journals looked like and what was their exact purpose back then on those hard teenage days, while the whole world was against us and still we used to rule the world.

I remember that journals were colored and full of pictures and very popular, especially among little ladies. There was a lot of pink involved and the main purpose we used to keep them was that they were our secret confidents. We needed to deal with our social lives and things we didn’t know how to ask and how to say. And “Dear Diary” was our closest secret friend, in whose carton covers were hidden our emotions, thoughts and fears.

Punctuality

13 Mar 2008 In: Time Management

PunctualityPunctuality is a golden feature, a quality we all most have in order to succeed in life.

Punctuality is the easiest way to prove that you are organized, respectful and caring for other people. Being able to organize you own time, as said before (see Time Management) is a key element for an efficient way of living. By not being punctual, you show people that you have no respect and consideration for their own agenda, and that is because the fact that once they have to wait for you, their whole schedule is compromised for the day.

But the first person who suffers from your inability to make it on time is yourself. Here are some main ideas you should have in mind if you’re not punctual:

Time Management

Time Management

A couple of months ago I had to prepare and hold my first “Time Management” training. And I remember that those days were quite busy with exams and projects and other stuff I had to do for school. I soon realized I had to gather the information as fast as I could due to the fact that my agenda was full already and deadlines were not very far.

I must admit that the first thing that came to my mind was panic.

Expectations

Expectations

As humans, we live our lives by creating social networks to spend time together and interact with each other. We all have friends and family, work colleagues and neighbors. Each individual living in a society is part of at least a couple of social groups. In other words, all of us have a few groups of people we usually hang out with, no matter the circumstances.

When dealing with people, expectations never forget to come. We have in fact great expectations which usually translate into what we want other people to do for us. Sayings like “I expected more from you” are basic in our daily vocabulary and it is not surprising at all that we often get upset or rather uncomfortable when people don’t meet our expectations.

When you live in a world where time is money, you’re either in a hurry or gone. Say you want to buy a gift for your best friend, you come into a store, you look for something special, then you look for something a bit interesting and you end up on buying something that’s just nice and hurry back home. Does this make you a bad person? No, it makes you either busy, in a hurry or not patient.

It’s not wrong not to be right

1 Mar 2008 In: The Real You

When I first started reading about personal development, I tried to make an image of what this really meant. How can we become more satisfied with our lives? Where do we draw the line between unhappy to happy, or how are we measure our happiness rate?

I’m not going to ask myself or ask you what is happiness or how do we reach it because I believe that the great questions of life have a deeper meaning when we find the answer by ourselves. A first step into this wonderful journey is accepting ourselves the way we real are.
